Mrs. Montana
The Official State Preliminary Pageant to Mrs. America

Life, however, has not always been the proverbial bed of roses.  When I was 8 months pregnant with my daughter I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.  This chronic condition has brought many interesting challenges into our lives, but we have faced them all head on, and while it may have caused some detours, I have not let it slow me down. I am an advocate for raising awareness, while at the same time providing an example of someone who has moved forward despite obstacles.  That is the message I carry with me about my journey to become Mrs. Montana in hopes of being in inspiration.

I am honored to have the opportunity to represent our great state of Montana on a national level, representing married women and helping to bring about awareness of Multiple Sclerosis.

So if you are thinking about entering the pageant, don’t let the opportunity pass you by. If I would have, I would have missed out on experiencing a year of dreams, remember Imagine It…Live It because YOU could be the next one I crown as Mrs. Montana 2010!

To live your life in your own way,
To reach for all the goals you have set for yourself,
To be the you that you want to be... that is success.
Unknown.

Your Mrs. Montana 2009,
Lacey Kraft

I began my quest for the crown almost on a whim.  When I saw the ad in the paper to become the next Mrs. Montana, I thought, “Why not me?”, so I sent in my application.  I placed 4th Runner-up with an award for Best in Evening Gown and I was hooked.  Determined to capture the crown, I entered again and again placed 4th Runner-up.  Not to be deterred, I entered for a third time in 2008.  I was honored to be 1st Runner-up to Katrina Mann, Mrs. Montana 2008.  As soon as the 2009 pageant season begun, my entry form was in the mail and I began working harder than ever for the coveted title.  Success awaited me on this 4th attempt as I won the prestigious 2009 crown! Hearing not only my name called as Mrs. Montana 2009,  but seeing my husband Josh behind the curtain with a big smile on his face was one of the most amazing and cherished moments. And now to be a part of the Mrs. America family, I am so privileged!

Hello, I am Lacey Kraft, Mrs. Montana 2009!  I am pleased to introduce myself to you and share a little bit about my history.

the great local restaurants found across the state.  In my spare time you will find me enjoying my horses and chickens on our hobby farm.

My husband, Joshua, and I met in high school and have known each other for over 15 years. We fell in love after sharing a locker and passing notes during the day throughout our senior year.  We married 13 years ago and it has been a wonderful journey as we have

I am a native Montanan. I love to take part in all that Montana has to offer, rural living, great outdoor activities like hunting, fishing and camping, friendly cities and towns, and beautiful national parks within easy driving distance.  One of my favorite pastimes is eating in all of
grown together.  He has been my rock to stand on. He supported me while I double majored at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, as he worked up the corporate ladder.  It has been my pleasure to watch and support his successes. We have two wonderful children, Ely Jude (9) and Bella Eden (6).  As a family, we all enjoy being very active and living in the country with all its benefits.
