The Official State Preliminary Pageant to Mrs. America

On July 17th, 2010 my name was called as Mrs. Montana 2010! My crowning moment was one of the most exciting moments of my entire life.  Standing on the stage in front of an audience with other amazing talented women was a huge accomplishment.  With my heart pounding as I awaited the announcement of the new Mrs. Montana, all I could see was my beautiful daughter staring back at me in the audience.  At that moment, I realized that I had become a memory that she would never forget...that I am a role model to her and that I was ready to become a role model to all the married women of Montana.  My dream became a reality and this reign is dedicated to all of you!

I am Wendy Brown!  Your Mrs. Montana 2010!  I am incredibly honored to have been chosen to represent our beautiful state of Montana.  "The Last Best Place."

A couple months ago I was encouraged to enter the Mrs. Montana Pageant as a way to gain self-confidence and become more integrated within my community.  I was slightly reluctant at first, however, I decided to take a chance and follow a dream.  I am so glad I did as now I have been given the opportunity of a lifetime!  Thank you to all my amazing friends, family, and supporters!  I couldn't have done it without all of you!

I've lived in Montana since I was three years old and have enjoyed various types of activities that allow me to utilize the creative aspect of my personality.  You can find me decorating our home in Victorian style,  scrapbooking, writing, and photography.  Also, I believe in the art of expression through dance and have been dancing most of my life.  Dancing, cheerleading, and theatre performance, as just a few activities that I love to participate in.  I graduated with the highest honors from the University of Montana and accomplished one of my life long goals of becoming a nurse.  Being a nurse allows me to come in contact with all walks of life and form bonds that last a lifetime.  There is nothing more rewarding than hearing a patient or family member say, "Thank you."  I love giving back to my community through my profession as a nurse and now with the title of Mrs. Montana, I get the opportunity to make a difference and change lives.
As your Mrs. Montana 2010, my year will be filled with giving back to the community through education and awareness on the disease, Alzheimer's.  With being a geriatric nurse, I hope to empower people who may know of or have a family member who suffers from Alzheimer's.  Through dedication to education, I hope to reach and enrich the lives of people who suffer from this disease.

My amazing husband, Thomas, and I met at a nursing facility.  He instantly captured my heart by his compassion and willingness to care for others.  We admired each other from afar until one day I invited him over for homemade lasagna.  I was so nervous that I burned the lasagna terribly and started the cheese bread on fire!  I suppose you can say our love "ignited" from there as we began what would be a life long journey together.  We were married over the beautiful River Rock pond on March 7th, 2005.  Staring into my husbands eyes while reciting our vows was the most beautiful moment of my life.  I married the man of my dreams, the love of my life, and my best friend.  Today we share our home with our two beautiful children, Lily Rose and Boston Thomas...the absolute pride and joy of our lives!

My biggest role model, my mother, has always believed in me.  She has taught me that hard work and dedication truly pay off.  I wouldn't be the woman I am today without her guidance and support.  She has always encouraged me to follow my heart and achieve my dreams.  Seeing her in the audience during my crowning moment, smiling and crying at the same time, was the most cherishing part of the whole experience.  Being crowned in front of all my family and friends was a life changing moment that I will remember forever.

.
I want to personally thank everyone who believed in me.  Thomas, thank you for being MY Mr. Montana.  I am honored to have you by my side.  To my big brother, who has always been so proud of me, I love you!  Jerry, my beautiful angel in heaven, I know you are always watching over me.  To my children, I love you more than anything in this world.  To all the married women of Montana, I hope to go out there and make you proud!

I encourage all of you to apply.  The experience is life changing and amazing from day one!  You will form friendships and memories that will last a lifetime and grow personally in ways you never envisioned.  Imagine It...Live It!  just as Walt Disney said, "if you can dream it, you can do it!"

Your Mrs. Montana 2010,
Wendy Brown
